Nokia 5.4 is the new smartphone launched in India by HMD Global. The phone has seen its launch earlier in the European market, and now it arrives in the country with significantly lower pricing. The lower mid-range Nokia device starts at Rs 13,999 and comes in two storage variants. With its specs, it sits in competition with devices like POCO M3, Redmi 9 Power, Vivo Y31 and Moto G9 Power in India.

Nokia 5.4 — Display and Design

The Nokia 5.4 features a punch-hole display that measures 6.39-inches. It’s the first punch-hole display from the company, in its Nokia 5 series lineup. It comes with HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display rests in an in-house developed Nordic design-build on the back, which features in two colour variants — Polar Night and Dusk. On the rear, the device equips a circular square module and also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor under the camera module.

Under the hood, the latest Nokia device uses Snapdragon 662 SoC from Qualcomm. It is the octa-core processor with clock speeds of up to 2.0Ghz and has Adreno 610 GPU, for graphics. In terms of storage, the device comes in with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There’s an expandable storage option available for up to 512GB via microSD. On the software, the Nokia 5.4 ships with stock Android 10 out of the box, but promises to be Android 11 ready.


The device attains four rear cameras in the new circular module, of which, the 48MP sensor acts as the primary camera. Followed by a 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth and a 2MP macro camera. The punch hole on the front houses a 16MP selfie shooter.


The latest Nokia device is powered by a decent 4000mAh battery capacity that charges through USB Type-C. The battery supports regular 5V/2A charging capabilities.


The other connectivity options of the device include a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and Dual SIM. The other highlights of the Nokia 5.4 include — dedicated Google Assistant button, biometric face unlock, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive support, and FM.

Nokia 5.4 — Pricing

The Nokia 5.4 starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant, and the larger 6GB+64GB retails at Rs 15,499. The first sale of the devices start on February 17th, and both will be available for purchase on the Nokia website and through Flipkart.
