Moto G51 5G Confirmed to Launch in India on December 10th; May Debut With Snapdragon 480+ SoC

Motorola will be launching its upcoming Moto G51 5G smartphone on December 10th, 2021 in India. The upcoming smartphone, which is part of the company’s latest budget smartphone lineup, will be sold via Flipkart. Launched in Europe last month, the Moto G51 5G features the Snapdragon 480+ SoC, a 50MP triple-rear camera setup, and a 6.8-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Moto G51 5G is coming after the recent launch of the Moto G31. The smartphone has officially been teased on Motorola’s social media handles and will be sold post-launch via Flipkart. The Moto G51 boasts of global 5G bands and Motorola claims that twelve active 5G bands will be made available to users upon launch. The smartphone is likely to arrive in three color variants – Aqua Blue, Bright Silver, and Indigo Blue.

The Moto G51 5G (European variant) features a 6.8-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 480+ processor paired with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage. The device will reportedly be one of the first smartphones to launch in India with this new chipset from Qualcomm.

As for the optics, Moto G51 5G sports a triple-rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. At the front, there is a 13MP shooter to handle selfie and video calls. The smartphone draws power from a 5,000mAh battery and charges at 10W. The device also gets a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a micro-SD card slot, a dedicated Google Assistant button, an IP52 certification, and runs Android 11.

Moto G51 5G Price in India (Expected)

As per the previous leaks, the Moto G51 could be the company’s first 5G-enabled G-series smartphone priced under Rs. 20,000 mark. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone was launched last month in Europe with a price tag of EUR 229 (roughly Rs. 19,400).
