Xiaomi is launching a new “5” device on 14th February in India and is also likely to launch the Mi Mix 2S at MWC 2018. A new leak from AnTuTu benchmark listing has revealed that the phone will come with Snapdragon 845 under its hood.
While Xiaomi is likely to launch a phone with the latest processor, Samsung is definitely releasing the S9 line-up with the same chipset. Whatever it may be, the Mi Mix 2S will be the first Xiaomi device to carry Snapdragon 845 for sure.
A smartphone named ‘Polaris’ has been listed on AnTuTu with a score of 270,461. Sources believe that this is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. The phone is not likely to launch before the Galaxy S9 duo and Sony Xperia XZ Pro.
In December 2017, Xiaomi announced a partnership with Qualcomm for Snapdragon 845. The Mi 7 was speculated to be the first device to have the processor. However, now it is clear that the Mi 7 will not launch at MWC 2018 and Mi Mix 2S is more likely to release during the event.
Snapdragon 845 has an in-built AI-support which will enable the facial recognition in the Mi Mix 2S. The phone is also likely to sport an iPhone X-like notch and retain the bezel-less design of the Mi Mix. The device will also carry the Sony IMX363 camera sensor which supports the dual-pixel autofocus technology in order to enhance the quality of night images.
The expected cost of the phone is CNY 4,000 which translates to Rs 41,000 (approx). It is also speculated to start selling from March. Do you think this to be true? Let us know your take on the issue in the comments section below.
