Xiaomi India has kick-started 2021 with the launch of Mi 10i 5G smartphone in the country. It is the new 5G smartphone from the company, which utilises Snapdragon’s X52 5G modem developed by Qualcomm. The latest 5G phone from Xiaomi packs in new design aesthetics, high refresh rate display, faster-charging capabilities and bigger cameras.

Mi 10i 5G — Display and Design

The Mi 10i 5G features a 6.67-inches DotDisplay (centred punch hole) that hosts the selfie shooter. It comes with Full HD+ resolution that additionally comes with HDR10 and HDR10+ certification as well as L1 certification. Besides, there’s Reading mode 3.0, Sunlight display 3.0 and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification.

The other highlights of the display include its 120Hz (Adaptive Sync) refresh rates coupled with achieving up to 450 nits brightness. There’s Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and as well as on the back.

Speaking of the rear, the Mi 10i 5G features a new gradient finish build, which also comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The gradeint finish promises to be anti-fingerprint with its new glossy finish. The device will be available in three colour variants compirsing — Pacific Sunrise, Midnight Black, and Atlantic Blue.

Under the hood, the Mi 10i 5G equips a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. The SoC utilises Kryo 570 cores and features Adreno 619 GPU, for graphics. The 8nm processor is one of the 5G SoC from Qualcomm that uses Snapdragon’s X52 5G modem to enable 5G capabilities.

The Mi 10i comes in two storage variants comprising either 6GB/8GB of RAM (LPDDR4x) coupled with 64/128GB onboard storage (UFS 2.2) option.


The Mi 10i utilizes quadruple rear cameras with 108MP sensor acting as the primary one. The device claims to be the country’s first phone featuring Samsung HM2 sensor (108MP) that comes with f/1.75 aperture. The primary sensor accompanies an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera that features a 120-degree field of view. Also, there are 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensors.

For video, the rear cameras support video recording of up to 4K including, FHD and HD. Besides, the rear cameras come with a bunch of features comprising six long exposure modes, AI scene detection, timed burst modes, Night mode 2.0, to name a few.

On the front, the punch hole cutout on the display beholds a 16MP selfie shooter featuring f/2.45 aperture. It also features Night mode 1.0, AI beautify, Panorama selfie and more.

Mi 10i 5G — Battery

The Mi 10i draws power from a decent 4820mAh battery that charges through USB Type-C. It comprises split charge technology and supports 33W fast charging with the adapter provided in the retail packaging.

The other highlights of the device include — a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, MIUI 12 out of the box, dual-band GPS and Wi-Fi, an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP53 rating, and dual stereo speakers.

Mi 10i 5G — Pricing

The Mi 10i 5G retails at Rs 20,999 for the 6GB+64GB variant. The 6GB+128GB variant costs Rs 21,999 and the larger 8GB+128GB retails at Rs 23,999. The first sale of these variants start on January 7th for Prime users and Open sale of the device starts on January 8th.
