A new leak from Weibo has come to the fore today revealing interesting details about Apple’s upcoming smartphones. The entire leak includes details on the iPhone XS, iPhone XC, iPad Pro, and MacBook as well. The new iPhones are due for a public launch on September 14th. Also, the Apple Watch Series 4 makes an appearance here too. While Apple hates these leaks, there is no stopping them from popping up close to launch as we’ve seen some HD leaked renders of some of the upcoming products online. Let’s take a look at the leaked specifications here.
First off, the iPhone XS. The XS is actually comprised of two variants – both of them come with OLED screens, So, the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch version we’ve been hearing of come under this label. According to the leak, the iPhone XS will come with a built-in A12 chip and 4GB of RAM and 64GB/256GB/512GB of storage options. Also, there will be a Dual-lens camera at the back and Face ID for the front as expected. The leak says the two iPhone XS models won’t support Apple Pencil and ProMotion. The 5.8-inch could start at $899 and the 6.5-inch model could be priced at around $999. Both models are thought to get a Silver, Gray, and Gold colour.
The iPhone XC is the 6.1-inch version that will probably be the most budget-oriented product. This will have an LCD panel and will use a single-lens camera and also feature Face ID. The iPhone XC could be priced around $749 and it will have glass and aluminium build along with a variety of colour options – Red, Blue, Gray, Orange, and White. It is also expected to have 3D Touch and the same A12 chip albeit with 3GB of RAM while storage options are mentioned as 64GB and 256GB.
Coming to the Apple iPad Pro that suddenly broke on the scene a few days ago, the leak suggests two variants of the big slate. An 11-inch and a 12.9-inch model. A recent CAD leak of the same showed a very thin bezel device with an aluminium build on the slate. Again, the chip inside is the A12X and there is a whole range of storage options stretching from 64GB/256GB/512GB/1TB. Face ID will also be present on it as will be Lightning and Smart Connector.
Next up is the Apple Watch Series 4. We’ve had some glimpses of the new edge-to-edge display of the new wearable before, but here are the specifications. The leaks say the display is 15 percent larger and it packs an S4, W3 chip with 16GB of onboard storage and prices will be similar to last year’s model.
Last but not least in this long leak, is the MacBook. It has a 12-inch and 13-inch Retina display and will come with a design similar to the current MacBooks with multiple USB Type-C ports and a $999 price tag.
While the leak has been shared by a reputed portal, there’s no link to the Weibo source from where it originated. Most of the details don’t seem to be very fishy but in any case, the launch event is not very far off. Also, we could still see some more as we’ve now entered the final phase of pre-launch leaks.
