Right after an HD render leaked last week, we have now got our hands on a new set of Moto Z3 Play images. The images of the upcoming flagship show off the real handset’s front and back and appear authentic. There are many similarities between the render and these set of images. It seems that leaks are unanimous with respect to the design of the phone.
However, there is an extra image that gives us some new tidbits about the modular Motorola phone. The Moto Z3 Play’s model number is XT1929. This was also the model number of the unit that passed the FCC again confirming the legitimacy of these snaps. Further, although the pictures don’t reveal it, the handset will skip the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Motorola has revamped its entire lineup of phones to introduce the elongated 18:9 aspect ratio. The Moto Z3 Play is no exception, and looks-wise, it is a good addition. Unlike the G series, the Moto Z3 Play will likely house a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, as per these images. The particular handset pictured in the leak runs Android 8.1.0 Oreo with the May security patch. However, it also seems to be running some sort of custom ROM.
Prior knowledge about the specs of the handset tells us to expect a Snapdragon 636 with 4GB of RAM. There’s also a 3GB variant, as per some reports. Expect the Moto Z3 Play to launch anytime around June. Are you excited about this phone? Let us know in the comments section below.
