Last year, LG promised to change its launch policies for flagships promising to focus on adding new features and not just shoring up its portfolio each year with new devices. That has been far from true this year as the company unveiled two V-series devices – V30S ThinQ and the V35 ThinQ. There’s barely any difference between the two and the real upgrade will be the LG V40. New renders of the said device have appeared today shedding more light on its looks and design.
LG V40: First look
Taking a look at the images below, there are a few key takeaways. One is that the LG V40 will feature a notch. If you look closely, it has one but it is hidden. The other big feature will be the triple cameras at the back. Hopefully, LG keeps the wide-angle lens and adds a telephoto sensor to the standard one. That would be great. The power and volume buttons make a return and thankfully, the 3.5mm headphone jack is not sacrificed here. It is likely we will see a quad-DAC on these devices too. There’s one more button, and that’s for the Google Assistant.
As for specs, we aren’t quite aware of them. However, we know what the V series is made of, so expect a Snapdragon 845 at least with 6GB of RAM. If the LG V40 launches after October, it will be the third flagship with triple cameras. These renders hint at a November 16 launch date which means it will not be the second device to boast of the triple camera feat. That is if the launch is on the said date.
