The unreleased Lenovo Z5 is the talk of the town since Lenovo started teasing the handset this month. What is driving the curiosity is the claim of a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. For perspective, the Vivo Apex that holds the bezel-less crown, for now, has a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio.
That kind of ratio is unheard of in the industry, hence the keen interest. Company VP Chang Cheng said that it took them four technological breakthroughs to get to this. Today, another teaser has been shared but don’t hold your breath.
Like the first teaser, this one builds the anticipation with the peak of the bottom left side of the screen. If Lenovo goes on with this then two teasers later there won’t be any secrets to see in June. If you look closely, some tiny bezels are visible at the edges. Perhaps these will constitute the 5 percent body ratio. The sketch shown off earlier showed no signs of a notch. All the evidence collected indeed points to a true-bezel less device and we’re genuinely excited. The company VP has also since confirmed that this will be a flagship-grade smartphone boasting the Snapdragon 845 chipset.
The Lenovo Z5 launches on June 14. Its launch is set to clash with the Vivo Apex release in China. You can be sure we’ll be covering the event and we’ll be sure to let you know of any interesting developments hereafter. In the meantime, chime in with us in the comments section below and share your thoughts about how Lenovo could have made this true bezel-less design possible.
