Lenovo Z5 is not the phone we expected; comes with a notch, a chin and no 4TB storage

Lenovo Z5 - Notch

Isn’t it sad to see the teasers turning out to be untrue once the device is released? Well, that is what happened at the launch event of Lenovo Z5. The Chinese smartphone maker teased about a truly bezel-less smartphone coming our way. But as turns out it isn’t as bezel-less as the company was touting it to be. Not only has it a notch on top, but a chin on the bottom. Lenovo might have dug its own grave by under delivering the promised product.

Starting with details on the display, the device comes with a 6.2-inch screen that claims to offer 700 nits brightness levels. Against the 95% screen to body ratio that was teased before launch event, the Lenovo Z5 actually sports a 90% screen to body ratio, which doesn’t really stand out. There is a support of DCI-P3, which is a common RGB color space for digital movie projections. Meaning you can enjoy high-quality movies on this screen. This display is protected by a 2.5D corning gorilla glass. Talking about the screen resolution, it stands at 1080 x 2246 pixels.

Running on the Snapdragon 636 processor, it will be accompanied by a 6GB of RAM. There will be two storage variants one will come with a 64GB and other with 128GB. Based on the latest Android Oreo OS, Lenovo Z5 will come with a ZUI 4.0 launcher. In terms of the camera, it comes with the dual-rear 16MP camera powered by an AI. Lenovo teases the HDR imaging and noise reduction capability in the low-light shots. With a 3300mAh capacity battery, which comes with a support of 18W fast charging, expect battery life to be great.
