Lava Mobiles comes up with its new Lava Z series lineup for the Indian market. The company that works on #ProudlyIndian premise has launched not one but four of its new smartphones under its ‘Z’ series portfolio. The Indian OEM maker has also come up with a new fitness band alongside its new smartphone series. Out of the four launched, one of them claims to be special — the Lava Z1, which is a first designed-in-India smartphone. The handset maker claims it is 100% indigenous phone, designed by Indian engineers. It is a budget smartphone that aims to transform audiences who are used to feature phones to the new digital era of smartphones and it is also priced accordingly.
Lava Z series — Lava Z1
The new budget Z1 phone comes in a certified military-grade build, which promises durability. It features a 5-inches display with significant bezels on all sides and also features old school capacitive touch buttons to navigate through the interface. The display further comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The phone underneath equips a MediaTek Helio A20 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There’s a five-magnet speaker for audio that claims to be loud. For optics, there are two 5MP cameras on either side of the device — one acts as a selfie shooter and the other claims to be an AIR-powered rear camera.
The Lava Z1 comes in a single storage variant and costs Rs 5,499. It will be available on Amazon India, Lavamobiles.com and across all other retail stores starting from January 26th, 2021.
Lava Z series — Lava Z2
The Lava Z2 comes as the next smartphone in the line-up, which is set for today’s budget segment standards. It comes with a 6.5-inches water drop notch display with HD+ resolution. It has 20:9 aspect ratio and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.
The device equips a 12nm MediaTek Helio G35 processor that can achieve clock speeds of up to 2.3GHz. The storage options of the device include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
The phone equips AI dual rear cameras with 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP sensor. The selfie shooter on the front is an 8MP sensor. The device further includes a bigger 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charge support. The Lava Z2 ships with Android 10 out of the box. The other highlights of the device include its build, which is also Military Grade certified.
The Lava Z2 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage comes at Rs 6,999.
Lava Z series — Lava Z4
The Lava Z4 is next in the lineup and claims to be the first phone in the price segment to come with a 16MP selfie shooter that sits on the water drop notch. It can be considered as an upgrade from its smaller sibling, the Lava Z2. The display here measures 6.5-inches and comes with HD+ resolution. It’s a 2.5D curved screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The Lava Z4 also comes in Military-Grade certification, when it comes to its build quality.
Under the hood, the Lava Z4 has a MediaTek Helio G35, the 12nm octa-core processor with clock speeds of up to 2.3GHz. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. There’s an additional storage option up to 512GB through an external microSD card.
The Lava Z4 features AI triple rear cameras with 13MP acting as the primary sensor. It also has a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, as aforementioned, it equips a 16MP camera with additional features like bokeh mode, for instance.
On the software front, it ships with vanilla Android 10 out of the box. For authentication, the device utilises a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Lava Z4 draws power from a massive 5000mAh battery.
In terms of pricing, the Lava Z4 retails at Rs 8,999 for the 4GB+4GB variant.
Lava Z series — Lava Z6
The Lava Z6 is the same package as the Lava Z4 but with an extra RAM., While the Z4 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the Lava Z6 comes in 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. The extra storage here costs Rs 1,000, so the Lava Z6 retails at Rs 9,999.
Similar to the Lava Z1, all the other Lava Z series phones announced will be available across Amazon India, Lavamobiles.com and across all retail stores. However, they can be purchased starting from January 11th, 2021.
Despite these models, Lava is also providing customisable models across these devices under its ‘myZ’ program. And there’s also an upgrade program called ‘Zup’, wherein users can opt for upgrades across the lineup.
Lava BeFIT — Lava’s new fitness band
Lava has come up with yet another hardware announcement apart from the Lava Z series. It is a fitness band called — BeFIT. It’s an essential fitness band with essential tracking activities. Users can track all-day activity alongside monitoring body temperature. Apart from that, there’s also heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen level monitoring included as well. The BeFIT is also a smart fitness tracker with smart features like viewing your emails, texts, WhatsApp, answering calls, to name a few.
The Lava BeFIT comes at Rs 2,699 and will be available from January 26th, across all offline stores and online stores — Amazon India and Lavamobiles.com.
