JioPhone gets Wi-Fi hotspot feature; see how to enable the 4G hotspot

Launched in August last year, JioPhone took India by storm as most of the country’s population rushed online to get their hands-on with this feature phone enabled with a suite of 4G services from Jio Telecom. The Mukesh Ambani-led telecom giant has now started to roll out a crucial feature that has been missing out from the JioPhone. It’s the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature on the JioPhone.

According to a reported posted on 91Mobiles, the Wi-Fi hotspot option is now being rolled out as a software update and shall be received by all users soon. It is said to hit all JioPhone users in the next few days. This long-awaited feature has finally arrived and will make the lives easier for people looking to create their JioPhone as a hotspot to surf 4G internet on-the-go.

Now if you have received this update you shall be able to turn on this feature on your JioPhone. Below we have mentioned the instructions to create the Wi-Fi hotspot on the JioPhone.

Follow these steps to use Jio Phone Wi-Fi Hotspot feature:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Go to Networks and Connectivity menu.
  3. Open the Internet Sharing option.
  4. Go to Wi-Fi Hotspot option, by default its switched off.
  5. Select the option and turn it ON.
  6. The personal Wi-Fi hotspot is activated

Note: You can rename the network and default password according to your requirements.

Now you should be able to access the internet connection shared by the JioPhone you were operating these instructions on. Enjoy your personal hotspot on-the-go with JioPhone’s new Wi-Fi Hotspot feature.
