JioPhone 3 with a 5-inch touchscreen display is poised to arrive as per a report

Reliance Jio has so far launched two iterations of its JioPhones in India. These features phones have been accepted quite well in the Indian mobile community. The handsets powered by KaiOS has been the pillar of feature phone category as no other brands are selling feature phones as fast as Jio is doing. More importantly with a 4G LTE technology enabled inside these phones. But now the company is all said to step up its game with JioPhone 3.

JioPhone 3: specs and pricing

The Telecom giant with 100 million+ subscribers in India is believed to be planning for the introduction of a touchscreen on its next JioPhone iteration. If that doesn’t interest you then the expected price point. The JioPhone price in India could start at Rs 4,500. 

This information has been obtained by BeetelBite from a Reliance Jio executive. Talking further about the JioPhone 3 specifications, it could pack a 5-inch touch display, which will be the first in a JioPhone. The handset will reportedly have a 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with storage expansion support slot. As far as the camera department is concerned, it could be offering a 5MP rear shooter and a 2MP snapper on the front. 

Unfortunately, there is no information available regarding the operating system that will power the new 2019 JioPhone. There are rumours that it could see a full-fledged KaiOS if the company is looking to keep its partnership with KaiOS. Or it might move to the Android ecosystem, probably with the Android Go. But looking at how the company likes to offer a customized experience to its users, the KaiOS may serve them better.

JioPhone 3 availability

As far as the JioPhone 3 availability in India is concerned, it could arrive for pre-booking as soon as in July. The report mentions that the company could be getting ready to fill up the shelves at all the Reliance Jio and digital stores with the stock of its latest JioPhone. And then the customers could take home one starting August. The pre-booking should be available on Jio’s official website as it has done for previous models.
