iQOO 7 5G

iQOO 7 5G is now official in the Chinese market. It is the second commercially available Snapdragon 888 chipset smartphone launched after Mi 11 in the same region, last December. Apart from the flagship chipset, the iQOO 7 5G comes with other highlighting features like a high refresh rate display, 120W fast charging capabilities, and more. The flagship phone comes in multiple storage variants, and there’s a new special edition as well — thanks to its ongoing BMW collaboration.

iQOO 7 5G — Details

The flagship iQOO 7 packs in a 6.62-inches centred punch-hole display. It’s an AMOLED screen with refresh rates of up to 120Hz. It comes with a 91.4% screen to body ratio and has an aspect ratio of 20:9. The Full HD+ display supports HDR10+ and features 397ppi. The display here encloses in a gradient colour finish build with colours featuring Latent Blue and Blackland (according to Chinese translations). There’s one BMW variant, which features in unique BMW’s design aesthetics, like the company’s three coloured signature strips on the back.

Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 5G capable chipset powers the iQOO 7 5G. It’s the top tier powerful flagship SoC from the chipset maker, which can achieve clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz. The first 5nm processor also equips a third-gen Snapdragon X60 5G RF system, which makes the device 5G capable. For graphics, the chipset packs in Adreno 660 GPU. The iQOO 7 focuses on powerful gaming and incorporates power pump liquid cooling system to control heat dissipations.

In terms of storage, the regular variants of the iQOO 7 comprise up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and up to 128/256GB of onboard storage. On the other hand, the special edition comes in only one storage option, which is 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. On the software front, the iQOO 7 ships with Android 11-based OriginOS out of the box.

iQOO 7 5G — Cameras

The flagship from iQOO 7 features a rectangular camera module on the rear comprising a triple rear camera system. The 48MP f/1.79 sensor acts as the primary camera coupled with 13MP f/2.2 wide-angle and 13MP f/2.46 telephoto sensor. These support 20x digital zoom and come with a bunch of features including Night scene, slow-mo, short video, to name a few. The front camera has a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with modes like a dynamic photo, portrait, night scene and more.

The iQOO 7 draws power from a decent 4000mAh battery capacity. The interesting part of it is the 4000mAh battery is split into 2x2000mAh batteries, which charge through USB Type-C. And, iQOO is introducing its first 120W ultra-fast charging technology to quickly charge those up.

The other connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi-6, NFC, OTG, GPS. For authentication, the phone equips an in-screen fingerprint sensor and also relies on face wake recognition in the interface.

iQOO 7 5G — Pricing

The 8GB RAM and 128GB variant of the iQOO 7 5G 7 5G retails at CNY 3798 (Rs 43,100 approx.). The larger configuration, which is 12GB+256GB of the regular and special edition costs CNY 4198 (Rs 47,700 approx.). The phone will be available for purchase in the Chinese market starting from January 15th.
