Apple is currently working on a successor to the iPhone SE and it will be known as the iPhone SE 2. The iPhone SE had launched in March 2016 and recent reports suggest that its successor will join in soon.
Many rumours say that Apple will release the iPhone SE 2 at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2018. This event is likely to take place in June. The company will bring in wireless charging to this handset. In order to provide wireless charging, a smartphone has to have a glass rear because metal does not work with this technology. The iPhone X, iPhone 8, and the iPhone 8 Plus all have a glass rear and thus support wireless charging. Hence, it is quite clear that the iPhone SE2 will also come with a glass back.
The image shows that the iPhone SE 2 will have a glass back panel.
If we believe the rumours then the handset will have a 4.2-inch display and may feature the Apple A10 fusion chipset which powers the iPhone 7 as well. It will be available with 2GB of RAM and 32GB/128GB of internal storage. The device will sport a 12MP rear camera with a 5MP front camera. It will be packed with a 1,700mAh battery and will be pre-installed with iOS 11.x. It may have a price tag of $400 and speculations say that the phone will be manufactured in India.
The WWDC 2018 will not only release the iPhone SE, it will see the launch of devices like new iMacs, iPad Pro models, and MacBookbook Pro.
