Infinix Zero 8i is now official in the country. The company announced this new mid-range smartphone that sports a 90Hz refresh rate display and a diamond glass design on the rear. The Zero 8i revealed as a Flipkart exclusive and retails at Rs 14,999, and the first sale of it goes on December 9th.

Infinix Zero 8i — Design and Display

The design on the new Zero 8i is said to be inspired by Louvre’s diamond-cut design. The phone features a gem cut design concept on the rear that goes along the lozenge-shaped rear cameras module. On the whole, the device appears to have a multicolour gradient finish back with a matte finish on top of it. The phone will feature in two colour variants — Silver Diamond, and Black Diamond. For authentication, the Zero 8i has opted for a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The display on the Zero 8i smartphone measures a bigger 6.85-inches Full HD+ display — features dual pin holes for selfie cameras and features 20.5:9 aspect ratio. It is a 90Hz refresh rate display with touch sampling rates of 180Hz. The display achieves up to 480 nits brightness and a screen to body ratio of 90.1%.

Under the hood, the Zero 8i draws power from MediaTek’s Helio G90T processor. It is an octa-core processor built on a 12nm process and achieves clock speeds of up to 2.05GHz. For graphics, the chipset offers ARM Mali – G70 GPU. For smoother gameplay, the phone also equips multidimensional liquid cooling technology. The Zero 8i comes in 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage option. There’s microSD expansion available for up to 256GB.

As for optics, the Zero 8i features quad rear cameras in the unique rear cameras module. These cameras comprise — a 48MP f/1.79 primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera lens (119-degree FoV), a 2MP depth sensor with another 2MP AI lens as well.

These rear cameras additionally come with ultra steady video mode, slow-motion video mode, super night mode and professional mode. They also support 4K video recording at 30fps.

On the front, the Zero 8i equips dual selfie cameras. The 16MP camera acts as a primary sensor in conjunction with an 8MP wide-angle camera. The selfie shooter further supports AI portrait and features 3D face beauty mode, super night mode as well.

The Zero 8i arrives with a decent 4500mAh battery which features Infinix’s Power Marathon tech. It is designed to increase up to 25% of battery backup by power optimising on the apps. The battery further comes with 33W fast charge support as well. Which further claims to achieve up to 70% battery charge in thirty minutes.

The other highlights of the Zero 8i include XOS 7.0 operating system, which is based on Android 10. The device also supports DTS-HD surround sound. The phone comes with three in one card slots. It supports Dual VoLTE, VoWi-FI and OTG.
