Huawei’s oft-rumoured P11/P20 family has three variants, current leaked info suggests. Codenamed as Emily, Charlotte and Anne, they are the Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Plus and Huawei P20 Lite respectively. Now, Huawei is likely to hold a solo event for the launch of this flagship family, most likely on March 27th in Paris. Hence we won’t see phone action at MWC by the major Chinese manufacturer.
The Huawei P20 Lite codenamed Anne has managed to escape tipsters largely up till now. We had a sneak peek at the handset’s design two days back. However, some important tidbits of the device have surfaced due to its visit to the FCC. According to Roland Quandt, the device with FCC ID QISANE-LX1 is none other than the Huawei P20 Lite. This encounter with the certification authority reveals a number of things.
Firstly, the handset dimensions are 148 x 70mm. This makes it a tad bit taller than the iPhone X which measures 143.6 x 70.9mm. Also, the phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo powered by a 2,900mAh battery. The FCC listing also reveals support for microSD card, dual SIM and Wi-Fi 802.11n.
Further, an HTML5 test that benchmarked the Huawei P20 Lite previously unearthed an iPhone X-like notch on the device. It was found to sport an unusual 19:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,280 pixels. If the Huawei P20 Lite has a notch, we can definitely expect it on its higher-priced brethren.
The images released by the FCC here also suggest a dual camera setup. Hence the triple camera which has been grabbing the headlines seems to be a marquee feature of the Huawei P20. Other interesting features of the range include a possible 3D face recognition tech, a HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, and 6 GB of RAM.
