Huawei Mate Xs 2 With Snapdragon 888 costs €1999 (~Rs 1,64,000)

Huawei Mate Xs 2

On Wednesday, Huawei Mate Xs 2, the third-gen foldable phone, was made official globally. It features a new falcon wing design that claims to be ultra-light, ultra-fast and super durable, suggests the company. It now comes with a 120Hz refresh rate screen measuring 7.8-inches diagonally when unfolded. Unlike the Galaxy Fold series, the Mate Xs 2 relies on a single foldable screen that folds outwards. The imaging system on the new foldable device involves a triple camera system powered by HUAWEI XD Optics, paired with a punch-hole selfie camera. The foldable smartphone also brings smart multi-window interactions next to an immersive video calling feature.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 — Comes in Violet

The Huawei Mate Xs 2, this time, features some unique colours instead of settling with conventional ones. These include shades of violet, next to white and black shades. The device features a 3D fibreglass design that comes with a texture to hold onto the device firmly when unfolded. The device weighs 225 grams, which assures it fits in your palm and pockets quite swiftly. On the other hand, the hinge involves a double rotating wing design, which the company calls the Falcon Wing Hinge design. The hinge here is made of advanced MIM steel material.

As the display is exhibited outside all the time, Huawei has included a composite screen structure that claims to absorb the force of impact when dropped. Translating that to numbers means the display has 2.5x drop resistance, 2.8x impact resistance, and 1.4x crush resistance. The display here measures 7.8-inches when unfolded and 6.5-inches when folded. It is an OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The resolution includes 2480 x 2200 when unfolded and 2480 x 1176 when folded.

Snapdragon 888

The Mate Xs 2 is powered by an older flagship processor from Qualcomm, which is the Snapdragon 888 4G chipset. It uses Adreno 660 GPU for graphics. The device equips 8GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. There is external memory card support for up to 256GB—the device ships with EMUI 12 out of the box.
