Besides Oppo and Vivo, Huawei has been at the forefront of smartphone innovation this year with the Huawei P20 Pro being the prime example. Huawei was the first to bring a crazy awesome triple camera setup to smartphones and this is exactly why we’re looking forward to what the company has in store for its next flagship this year – the Mate 20. Speaking of which, we have fresh images of the Mate 20 Pro today straight from the blogging community of China.
While we do have our doubts about the image below, it appears the design has a dual curved full-screen display with skinny bezels on the top and bottom. This reminds us of an earlier report that stated Huawei’s agreement with Samsung over QHD+ OLED panels for the near future. The Mate 20 Pro could very well be the home of those OLED panels.
It does make perfect sense as the Mate series is the best Huawei offers to its top-tier customers each year. Although, Huawei has offered curved displays on its Mate series in the past but that was mostly with Limited Editions while the Mate 20 Pro would be more of a widely available device. Furthermore, it could also feature a pop-out camera as no selfie shooter seems to be visible in plain sight.
Apart from the obvious teaser, the source also offers some leaked schematics of the handset. The Mate 20 will also apparently boast of a triple camera setup on the back. While specifics of the sensors are not known yet, the source says that it will result in a 42-megapixel setup. Also, the Mate series traditionally comes with new chips from Huawei’s factories. The Mate 20 will likely come with the Kirin 980 that is expected to debut at IFA on August 31, 2018.
Besides these two vital elements, the Mate 20 Pro could also feature an on-screen fingerprint reader, GPU Turbo, and 8GB of RAM. We once again reiterate that the authenticity of the images is not guaranteed and it is better not to jump horses just yet. The Mate 20 series usually launches in October.
