Huawei Maimang 7 with Kirin 710 SoC to launch on September 12

Huawei Mate 20 Lite

Huawei is one manufacturer which makes its smartphones wear a lot of disguises and labels. Take the example of the Maimang 6 which was revealed last year in September in China. It is actually the Mate 10 Lite in disguise. Again, the Maimang 6 is sold in some countries as the Huawei G10. Now, since we’re full circle on the clock, it is time for the Maimang 7 or the Mate 20 Lite.

Huawei has already teased the launch event of the Maimang 7 that is slated for September 12. Also, the brand is making no efforts to hide the fact that this is actually a Mate 20 Lite. If you’ve not been meditating in the Himalayas for six months and you follow us, you must be aware that the Mate 20 Lite is now official. Hence, Huawei’s teaser for the Maimang 7 also reveals the complete phone design which is not a surprise to see.

Now that we know what the handset is all about, let’s quickly recap the specs of the upcoming upper-midrange phone. The Maimang 7 will feature a 6.3-inch 2340 x 1080p screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It will also feature a Kirin 710 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard (expandable) storage.

The Maimang 7 will come with a set of four cameras like its predecessor albeit better ones. The rear has a combo of 20MP + 2MP sensors and the front has a 24MP + 2MP duo powered by a 3,750mAh battery. There’s USB Type-C and Android 8.1 Oreo overlayed by EMUI 8.2.

Expect the Maimang 7 to be priced a bit more aggressively than the Mate 20 Lite.
