Ever since Sony announced the new 48MP IMX586 1/2-inch sensor for phones, I’ve been super excited to find out what kind of pictures it takes. Evidently, Honor was kind enough to make the View 20 soon enough so that I can test it out.
The first thing I did when we got a review unit of the View 20 is that I decided to compare the cameras to its immediate competition. Obviously, the OnePlus 6T was on top of the list. Apart from that, I’ve also added the people’s darling – Poco F1 – to the comparison to find out how it stacks up.
Take a look at the full video appended below to see the entire comparison.

Honor View 20: comparison video
Honor View 20: final conclusion
The Honor View 20 has really upped the ante with the new 48MP Sony sensor. From the pixel level details to the colours, the View 20 clearly has the better camera compared to the OnePlus 6T and the Poco F1. Even the video recording and the night mode is leagues ahead.
The only area where the OnePlus 6T has an edge over the View 20 is in the selfie performance. But it is not like the View 20 takes bad selfies. In fact, the selfies do look good and detailed. You just need to fix the colour in post. The Poco F1 clearly benefits from Xiaomi’s really good portrait algorithm and therefore that works in its favour.
Else, this comparison has clearly revealed that View 20 has set a very high standard for value flagship cameras in 2019. The OnePlus 7 has its work cutout. In fact, just the superior camera performance is enough for me to recommend the View 20 over the OnePlus 6T.
