Honor V40 5G is the first smartphone from the company launched without being backed by Huawei in China. In November, last year, Huawei officially sold off its Honor mobile unit to a new firm — Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd. It’s a firm backed by a consortium of over thirty agents and dealers across China. The primary reason for Huawei to sell-off is due to trading tensions with the US that eventually made the firm lack technical elements to run their mobile business.
This is Honor's first smartphone after seperation from Huawei group.
