Nokia 9 PureView’s successor with Snapdragon 855 and 5G to come soon

Nokia 9 just doesn’t seem to exit the headlines. After having its entire promotional video leaked, the device is back in the newsroom. However, this time, it’s for a different reason. The Nokia 9 PureView device is said to be launched later this month. Now, rumors suggest that HMD Global, the name behind Nokia, is already working on its successor. And it could be launched as soon as August this year.

Nokia 9 PureView successor

Reports suggest that HMD Global plans to incorporate a Snapdragon 855 SoC inside the Nokia 9 successor. Further, the device will also come with support for 5G spectrum. The camera setup is expected to be similar to that of Nokia 9 PureView. However, the successor will come with a larger image sensor for improved image quality.

Apart from that, the device should come with features similar to the Nokia 9 PureView. That is Penta-camera setup, 2K display and “true edge-to-edge display”. However, unlike the bezels on the Nokia 9, it could come with a punch hole camera on the front. Reports further suggest that the device will launch in the month of August this year.

Albeit too soon?

Frankly speaking, this is too soon to be talking about Nokia 9’s successor. We currently don’t even have an official word on the actual specifications of the Nokia 9 PureView. While it makes sense for HMD Global to be working on a 5G smartphone, they need to give it some time or else the Nokia 9 would not sell from the get-go. Of course, all this is speculation at this point of time, so stay tuned to Mr. Phone for more buzz.
