Huawei kicked off a sort of an arms race between smartphone manufacturers when it announced the world’s first triple camera device – the Huawei P20 Pro. Now, a lot of OEMs are working on triple camera flagship. However, not to be outdone Samsung is already working on a quad-camera phone. Yes, you read it right. A smartphone with four cameras on the rear. Now the launch of the said handset rumoured to be a Galaxy A9 Pro (2018) is on October 11. Before that, rumours have started coming in about the kind of lenses that would be used in the setup. Below is a concept image along with a rumour of the potential kinds of sensors Sammy would endow the upcoming phone.

If this rumour is correct, much of the setup on the Galaxy A7 (2018) will be utilized here. If you didn’t notice, Samsung already launched its first triple camera phone last week with the Galaxy A7 (2018). So, the setup is expected to consist of a main 24MP sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a combo of 10MP + 5MP zoom lenses. The only new sensor here is the 10MP zoom lens which is not seen on the new Galaxy A7. The looks are also quite similar to the latest A series phone as the concept image shows a four camera cut-out on the top left corner. It should be noted that this is not an actual image and neither have we seen one yet.
Besides that, the alleged Galaxy A9 Pro (2018) could feature a Snapdragon 710 CPU, a 6+ inch screen with Full-HD+ resolution and a 3,720mAh battery. Of course, all this is still from the realm of rumours and nothing should be taken for granted.
Apart from Samsung, Nokia and LG are also working on a triple camera device. And since OPPO has done it, Vivo should follow suit in the coming months as well.
