Google is reportedly working on its first-ever smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. The wearable is likely to be launched in 2022, as per reports leaked earlier. According to the report, the Google Pixel smartwatch has a codename ‘Rohan’ that will have the latest version of Wear OS. Google was supposed to launch its first smartwatch, i.e. the Pixel Watch, along with the Pixel 6 series. But that didn’t see the day, like the previously rumored timelines.

Coming on to the latest development, famous Youtuber John Prosser has shared some renders of the Google Pixel smartwatch. The tipster had shown similar-looking renders back in April. The recent images shared by the tipster reveal the complete design and some interesting features of the smartwatch. He further claims that these images are official Google marketing images, and not just 3D CAD-based renders.

The renders reveal that Google’s upcoming smartwatch will be officially known as Google Pixel Watch. It will feature a round design and a ‘bezel-less’ display. Google has added a crown on the right side of the watch. Besides, there seems to be a microphone on the left at the bottom side of the watch.

Other pictures of the Google Pixel Watch show a new UI for heart rate, which depicts that the company might be utilizing its recent Fitbit integration. The watch also has a codename of ‘Nightlight’. Another picture showcases the integrated Google Map route UI. That means that users would be able to use it for navigation. Further, the leaked images also tell us the alleged Google Pixel watch could also make or answer calls.

As per the previous reports, the Google Pixel Watch should be running Wear OS 3. Google developed this OS in collaboration with Samsung, merging the Wear OS with Tizen. This new OS recently made its way to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.

Nonetheless, a recent report by 9to5Google pointed out that there are some irregularities in the renders of the Google Pixel Watch shared by the Prosser. It mentions that the Google Maps screenshot shown in the renders has a different design compared to the one featured on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 series. Similarly, the renders showing fitness rings suggest Google Fit integration, while recent reports have indicated the company could be working on Fitbit integration instead.

Also according to the report, the renders shared by the tipster could be a few months old. That means the design could have possibly changed since that day these were created, and might significantly change during the final release.

The launch of the Google Pixel Watch has been rumored for a very long time now. That said, a fresh report from Insider claims the new launch timeline that is said to be in the first quarter of 2022. However, Google is yet to announce a smartwatch joining its Pixel hardware lineup. So we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt.
