Google Pixel, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X to get the Pixel 2 portrait camera mode

Pixel smartphones

If you ever have envied the users of Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL for the portrait mode, you are in for a surprise. A third-party camera app named Camera NX has brought the portrait mode of the Pixel 2 into the original PixelPixel XL, Nexus 6P, and the Nexus 5X.

The Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X all have very similar cameras. These handsets have similar lenses and image sensors. But the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have different hardware and image sensors.

The Camera NX developers have found a way to manage the camera software which helps in enabling the portrait mode in the new Pixel 2 smartphones. It enables the mode for both front and rear cameras. The Camera NX has the same interface as the Google’s official camera app.

The right side is clicked by Pixel 2 and the photograph on the right side is clicked by the Pixel. It is clear that the work done by the Pixel 2 camera is better. Now the users of the Nexus 6P, the original Pixel, and many more smartphones will enjoy the same picture quality.

The Camera NX is a free app but you will not be able to find it in Google’s Play Store. Thanks to this app users can get the Portrait mode even on non-Google devices.
