The Galaxy S9/S9+ were the two coolest phones launched at the pre-MWC Unpacked event, three days back. Following its global launch, Samsung is now set to launch the duo in India on March 6th. Both the handsets have already gone up on pre-order in India as well as some other countries like the UK.
Though Samsung has priced the Galaxy S9/S9+ higher by a big margin in most countries, the price in the US remains astonishingly the same as the Galaxy S8. The unlocked version of the Galaxy S9 costs $720 while that of the Galaxy S9+ is $840. Below is the pricing of other countries. In fact, the unlocked price is even lower than their Galaxy S8/S8+ counterparts. $720 price tag converts to roughly Rs. 47,000 and the $840 price tag to Rs around 54,800.
Galaxy S9 – 64GB – $720 / €899 / £740
Galaxy S9 Plus – 64GB – $840 / €999 / £869
Galaxy S8 – 64GB – $750 / €799 / £689
Galaxy S8 Plus – 64GB – $850 / €899 / £779
We don’t know why Samsung has a sweet spot for the US but we think that the Indian variants will not be treated with such favours. A leaked document has revealed what the Indian pricing will be like. 91Mobiles suggests that the MRP of the new Galaxy S series will be as follows:
Galaxy S9 (64GB) Rs 62,500
Galaxy S9 (256GB) Rs 71,000
Galaxy S9+ (64GB) Rs 70,000
Galaxy S9+ (256GB) Rs 79,000
These are the speculated prices and it still remains to be seen whether this will actually be the pricing on launch date. To know more about the Galaxy S9/S9+ click on this link here.
