Samsung has been on a roll in 2017. The flagships have taken quite a liking amongst the masses, despite the high price point and a history of a terrible recall last year. But people just can’t get enough of Samsung products. As 2017 comes to an end and after the successful launch of the Note 8 and the S8 line, Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy S9 in early 2018. Read on to know more about what we know till date.
Specs of the Galaxy S9
Samsung always launches its S series in the early part of the year. This helps Samsung capture the larger chunk of the market, as they become the first in line to adopt the new Qualcomm chipset. Samsung Galaxy S9 would be housing a Snapdragon 845 chipset which would bring much better battery efficiency and performance at the table. It would have 4 GB ram and some improvement on the software side of things, that would mean better battery management, multiple tasking, faster computing etc. Also, the Asian and European models would house the Qualcomm equivalent, Exynos processors that are a Samsung proprietary.

Screen of the Galaxy S9
The screen resolution would show a 1440 X 2960. This is the QHD+ resolution that Samsung is pushing in its flagship. The 18.5 by 9 aspect ratio will be maintained. The fingerprint sensor under the display is yet not perfect, so we might not see the tech yet in the S9. The target of the next year’s lineup would be more in lines of perfecting the already laid out concepts in the S8 and S8+. No radical experimental features would be put in.
Release Date of the Galaxy S9
Every year, Samsung launches their phones during the MWC (Mobile World Congress) event. This year was an exception though, as the quality checks were made more stringent, after the last year’s fiasco. But we’re optimistic, that the S9 and S9 plus would be launched during the MWC next year which is between Feb 26th to March 1st, 2018. So we can safely assume that the launch date of the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus would be on the 25th of February.
I’m excited to see if they go 100% bezel-free. But that’s a very impractical desire and still, we can only dream.
Let me know if you are excited for the next Samsung flagship as it’s just months away. Keep following us for more!
