The first camera sample from the Redmi 64MP camera smartphone is here

We’ve previously talked about how the next big thing in smartphones in the 64MP camera sensors, and how brands are already gearing up for it. Xiaomi is one of the leading brands in the race, and it seems like they just can’t shy from teasing about it. The first camera sample from the upcoming Redmi smartphone with a 64MP camera sensor is here.

Redmi has officially posted it the first camera sample from the smartphone. The image is of a cat, which when zoomed into, shows the clear details of its eyes. The image was shared originally on Weibo by the company’s official handle. However, Xiaomi’s Global VP, Manu Kumar Jain has also shared the image on his Twitter handle stating “Redmi is entering the era of 64MP”. Additionally, Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing also posted a screenshot of the camera UI. It shows the 64MP mode, which is similar to the 48MP option on its phones which support it.

As of now, not much details are known about the upcoming device apart from the 64MP sensor itself. The sensor is said to be the Samsung 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. It uses Tetra cell technology and remosiac algorithm. These two tech work in tandem to offer the best in the class image output. The tetra cell tech merges four pixels into one and thus producing higher quality images. The remosiac algorithm claims to help Tetracell tech create better output in brighter environments. Realme v Redmi

However, Redmi isn’t the only company that is working on a 64MP camera smartphone. Previously, Realme also shared a camera sample of its upcoming 64Mp camera smartphone. You can check it out here as well. So far, we don’t know which smartphone will be launched first, but the war between the two brands certainly seems to continue at a higher megapixel count.
