Content specific filters rolled out in Snapchat

Snapchat has rolled out a new feature regarding its snaps, the app has started using object identifying system for your pictures. This system will help them identify objects and simultaneously provide users with relevant features. This filter was rolled out last week, filters are a major source of revenue for Snapchat. For example, when you snap a picture of your dog you might get filter suggestions. Travelling, beach, food, pets, party pictures, home pictures will all trigger the Snap to give its user a filter suggestion.

The filters are wisely chosen by the app and they don’t provide with just anything. If you check on your Snapchat app the filter suggestions are very apt, relating to the picture you have clicked.

The above image of a dog shows how clearly the filter recognized the dog and gave the suggestion of “its a pawty”.

This image recognition doesn’t end here, users can even search for specific stories by using keywords like “holidays”. On there own Snapchat memories they can now search for a particular picture by typing in the keyword. The app has been constantly coming up with such features every now and then it is already at war with Instagram.

Company CEO, Evan Speigel is currently working on many features and will start rolling them out in a couple of weeks.
