ASUS ZenFone 5Z to be priced at Rs 29,999 as per new leak; should OnePlus be worried?

Asus Zenfone 5Z

The Asus ZenFone 5Z launches tomorrow exclusively on Flipkart. While we already know everything about the handset, one of the main elements of its success will be the pricing that is yet unknown and will be official tomorrow. However, the handset has already been listed on the e-commerce portal with all its variants and prices. Do note that this is the state as we write the story, and the listing might have already been taken offline or will soon be.

So, how does the listing look? Well, it seems Asus will be pricing the phone very aggressively just as it has done so in Europe. The base variant that has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage starts at Rs 29,999. There are two other variants as well – an 8GB + 128GB that is listed with a Rs 32,999 price tag, and lastly, the high-end 8GB + 256GB version will cost Rs 36,999.

That price tag should already worry players like OnePlus who have aggressive pricing as their key strategy. OnePlus just launched their latest flagship, the OnePlus 6, with a price of Rs 34,999 for the starting base 6GB model.

Besides the leaked pricing, Asus will be offering no-cost EMIs starting as low as Rs 1,097. The ZenFone 5Z is already the cheapest flagship in Europe even beating the OnePlus. If you’re not much aware of the specifications of the handset, you can look at the awesome specs of the ZenFone 5Z in the Mr. Phone database.

If the Asus Zenfone 5Z price leaked is indeed true, then, OnePlus 6 really has got a competition. Looks like Asus is trying to woo every smartphone buyer who is ready to invest around Rs 30,000. While Honor 10 is also a great deal at this price, but it may not be as great as Zenfone 5Z.
