Asus, the Taiwanese manufacturer has released its latest flagship handset in India today. The Zenfone 5Z has been officially launched in the country at a starting price of Rs 29,999 for 6GB RAM variant. The handset would be an exclusive online device available only at Flipkart. And if you’re an ICICI Debit or Credit card user, you shall get Rs 3,000 off on the retail price of the device. Plus, it can be purchased for a Rs 3,333 no-cost EMI.

The first question must have in mind about the device – Whether it’s OnePlus 6 Killer or not? Well, to answer that query we would be putting out a separate post. For now, let’s explore the Zenfone 5Z specifications.

Asus Zenfone 5Z: Why it is the most promising flagship smartphone in India?

Asus has been aggressive with its pricing in India even from the start. This year before 5Z, the company made its mid-ranger, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 available in India. And it is one of the most popular handsets in sub-15,000 price bracket. With Zenfone 5Z, the company is trying to capture a more premium market with an aggressive price point. This is supported by a high-end specification sheet and implementation of the AI in the core of its Zen UI.

Talking briefly about the 5Z specifications, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor alongside the RAM variants of 6GB and 8GB. There is a support of up to 256GB of internal storage. Plus, the storage can be expanded via dedicated microSD card slot, unlike OnePlus 6 for a small comparison.

As far as the cameras are concerned, it comes with dual-rear cameras with a 12MP primary and 8MP secondary sensor. There is a support of f/1.8 aperture, OIS, Phase Detection Autofocus, and Dual Pixel. For the selfie lovers, it has a 20MP lens with f/2.0 aperture. All this is powered by a 3300mAh capacity battery with a support of fast charging.

To answer why it is the most promising flagship smartphone in India, you’d have to wait for the first impressions story from Ershad. The handset is believed to be going on sale on July 9th on Flipkart.
