Apple may have introduced the latest range of iPhones to the world, but that’s not all that the company has up its sleeve. Come October 30 is Apple’s hardware event, and the rumor mill is rife with what the Cupertino giant could announce. Here, we take a detailed look at everything Apple could announce at their hardware event on October 30:
New Apple iPad Pro
Probably the only thing confirmed to be launched at the hardware event is a new iPad from the company. Apple is expected to launch 2 variants of the iPad Pro, sized at 11- and 12.9-inches. However, the highlight of these launches is that they are said to pack in the same Face ID technology that debuted with the iPhone X.
The new iPad Pro will be nearly bezel-less and will bid goodbye to the Home button. Also, the rumor mill suggests that the iPad Pros might pack a USB Type-C port as well. As for the hardware, it will be packing the latest A12 bionic chipset introduced with the iPhone XS.
Ming-Chi Kuo, renowned Apple analyst, has also suggested a refreshed iPad Mini. However, there is a chance that Apple might reserve that for the next year.
Apple Pencil 2.0?
Assisting the new iPad Pros will be a new Bluetooth device, presumably an updated Apple Pencil. The new Apple Pencil is expected to support a proximity-based pairing process. That being said, the charging mechanism is still expected to be the same weird process. Let’s hope Apple announces a better solution for that as well.
Refreshed Apple MacBook Air
One of the most anticipated updates in a very long time, isn’t it? The MacBook Air is an aging product from Apple, and they are expected to finally announce an update for the same. The new MacBook Air is expected to come with the latest 8th-gen Intel processors along with 8GB of RAM.
The new Air is expected to ditch the bezels for a more modern look along with a Retina Display. Speaking about the display, chances are that the new MacBook Air will reserve a 13-inch size for the panel. As for the keyboard, Apple might opt for the updated Butterfly switches. Chances are that the base variant will be priced at a $1000, but considering it’s Apple, don’t get your hopes too high.
The Apple Mac Mini Returns
It’s been four years since Apple last updated the Mac Mini. While it hasn’t received the same amount of love as the MacBook Air, plenty of professional users still rely on it. Chances are that Apple might give the Mac Mini a refreshed look, both internally and externally.
Updated Apple iMac and Mac Pro
With Intel’s new desktop chipsets out, Apple could announce internal updates for the iMac and iMac Pro models. On the other hand, Apple has already teased an update for the Mac Pro. The company stated last year that it was working on a modular Mac Pro, targeting users “who need the highest performance, high-throughput system in a modular, upgradeable design.” Chances are we might see its launch or be teased a bit more come October 30.
Remember the AirPower? The wireless charging pad that can simultaneously charge three devices at the same time. Well, it’s been over a year since the official announcement of the device. There is a high possibility that we could finally see the AirPower pad in action on October 30. And if that’s not the case, we hope that Apple at least spills a few beans on its status.
Launched alongside the iPhone 7, Apple AirPods are one of the most convenient ways of enjoying your music wirelessly. However, the rumors of an updated version of AirPods have been rife for a long time now. The October 30 event seems to be the perfect date for their launch.
The AirPods 2 are expected to bring hands-free Siri and wireless charging support. With the latest iPhones already in the market, this could be a great time for Apple to launch the new AirPods.
