Apple may launch an iPhone with a massive 6.5-inch display, dual-SIM support this year

the 5.85-inch version of the iPhone X will be cheaper

Analysts have suggested that Apple will launch three new iPhones this year. The interesting thing about these phones is that they will be identical to the iPhone X in terms of design. KGI Securities analyst, Ming Kuo has explained Apple’s plans in detail multiple times. Today, a new report from a credible source has shed some more light on the upcoming three iPhone models.

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus were not much different from the iPhone 6. But the iPhone X launched in September 2017 brought a whole new design concept. Apple is looking forward to making this concept a standard one in all its upcoming iPhone models. Among the three new iPhones, Apple is going to launch the biggest iPhone ever with a display size of 6.5-inch.

The bigger iPhone will be longer than the iPhone 8 Plus and even the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The phone will have an OLED panel with a resolution of 1242 x 2688p and has been codenamed as D33. This bigger iPhone X model will embark Apple’s entry into the phablet category. As we all know, Samsung is an unparalleled ruler of this segment and as far as we know, Apple will not use this tag for its bigger iPhone. The device will carry Face ID feature instead of the fingerprint sensor and will authorize mobile payments.

Generally, whenever Apple makes an upgrade, customers like to upgrade to the newest iPhone as soon as possible. The bigger display of this phone might come as a boon to businessmen who constantly need to multitask and use spreadsheets on their phone. The release of this device can also affect the sale iPad models. Along with this phone, the company is also working on an upgrade to the iPhone X. The phone is codenamed D32 and will come with Apple A12 Bionic chipset, similar to the D33.

Both the phones are expected to have a Gold colour variant, for they are popular in Asian markets. The report also suggests the arrival of a cheaper version of the iPhone X this year. The device will carry an LCD panel with an edge-to-edge display. Face ID will also be included in the package with an aluminium build instead of iPhone X’s stainless steel body. The phone will sport a glass back with a support for wireless charging. The display is expected to be 6.1-inch on this device.

Apple is speculated to be running tests on these iPhones and they are expected to launch in September. The iPhone with a 6.5-inch display will have Dual-SIM slots because they are popular in European and Asian markets. However, the company might opt for E-SIM instead.

After a decrease in enthusiastic customers, Apple is looking forward to catering to all segments. The company sold just 77.3 million units of the iPhone X instead of the expected 80.2 million. By launching these options, the company is trying to satisfy customers who want the best device at an affordable price. What do you have to say about this report?
