Acer launches Predator Helios 700, Nitro 7 and Nitro 5, new Chromebooks, and much more

Acer recently hosted its Global Press Conference in New York. Here, the company has launched a plethora of new laptops, Chromebooks, a gaming desktop, and even some accessories. Well, let’s check out everything they’ve launched.

Acer Predator Helios 700 

The star attraction of the show was definitely the Acer Predator Helios 700. The main reason behind that is that the laptop comes with a unique HyperDrift forward-sliding keyboard that helps maximize airflow to keep the system running cool and quiet. Other than that, it is powered by the new 9th Gen Intel Core i9 processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU, and up to 64GB of DDR4 memory. 

Launched alongside the Helios 700 was also the updated Acer Predator Helios 300. It also comes with the new 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, 2060, or the latest GeForce GTX GPUs.

New Acer Nitro 7 and Acer Nitro 5

When it comes to budget gaming, both the Acer Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 are well-established names. Now, the company has updated its offerings with the latest specs out there. The new Nitro 7 gaming laptop comes with a mobile metal design with a 78 percent screen-to-body ratio and up to 7 hours of battery life. The Nitro 5 gaming laptop has an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio thanks to its 7.18 mm (0.28 inches) narrow-bezel design. Both laptops adopt 9th Intel Core processors1 and the latest NVIDIA graphics with fast refresh rates at 144Hz, and low latency of just 3ms. Additionally, they also feature dual fans, plus Acer CoolBoost technology and a dual exhaust port designed to keep the laptops chilled out during extended gaming sessions.

New Acer TravelMate P6 Series Notebook 

Acer has also launched the TravelMate P6 Series Notebook that provides long battery life in an ultra-thin-and-light and durable design for professionals on-the-go. The laptop is ideal for frequent travelers since it’s ultra-thin at just 0.6 inches (16.6 mm) and lightweight at just 1.1kg. The laptop offers up to 20 hours of battery life on a single charge. Additionally, it also comes with LTE and NFC mobile connectivity to allow users to stay connected. What’s more, is that it comes with MIL-STD 810G military standards as well. As for specs, the laptop comes with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, up to 24GB DDR4 memory, up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

New Acer Spin 3 (2019)

Acer has updated the Acer Spin 3 as well to bring it in line with expectations of 2019 consumers. The new Acer Spin 3 comes powered by up to an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce MX230 GPU and up to a 512GB PCIe SSD. The Spin 3 has a 14-inch FHD IPS touch display and is styled to be flexible and convertible with its 360-degree durable hinge. Additionally, it also comes with a rechargeable Acer Active Pen. As for battery life, Acer claims that it should easily last up to 12 hours on a single charge.

New Acer Aspire 7, Aspire 5 and Aspire 3

Acer has also updated its Aspire series as well to bring it in line with expectations of 2019 consumers. The Acer Aspire 7 features an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD in RAID 0 for productivity and high performance, and 2TB HDD. The Acer Aspire 5 features an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, or 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processor with Radeon Vega Graphics, and discrete Radeon RX 540 graphics, and a thin, premium aluminum top cover design. Lastly, the Acer Aspire 3 features include up to 8th gen Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, or a 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processor with Radeon Vega Graphics, and discrete Radeon RX 540 graphics, a Precision TouchPad, and Acer BlueLightShield.

Acer Chromebook 715 and Acer Chromebook 714

Adding on to its wide array of laptops, the company has also launched two new Acer Chromebooks. These offer Chrome Enterprise manageability and the latest features including military-grade durable aluminum chassis, fingerprint readers, and Citrix Ready Certification. Both new Acer Chromebooks feature a backlit keyboard. However, the Acer Chromebook 715 is the first Acer Chromebook with a dedicated numeric keypad for number-intensive applications. Acer Chromebook 714’s slim bezels provide an immersive viewing experience and reduced footprint. They also come with dual USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports that allow convenient charging and data transfers.

Acer Predator Orion 5000 Gaming Desktop and Predator 43-inch LFGD Gaming Monitor

Acer has also launched its behemoth gaming PC under the Predator lineup. The Acer Predator Orion 5000 Gaming Desktop features Intel’s 9th Gen Core i9-9900K processors with the Z390 chipset, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPUs, Dragon 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, and an even more compact footprint. The Predator Orion 5000 (PO5-605S) also features an all-in-one CPU liquid Cooler to maximize performance during intense gaming sessions.

Launched alongside the Orion 5000 is also the Predator 43-inch LFGD Gaming Monitor. The new 43-inch Predator monitor features 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and DisplayHDR 1000 certification to offer users an expansive viewport. The monitor’s AdaptiveSync feature adapts to the frame rate of the outputting device, resulting in uninterrupted gameplay so users can concentrate on the task at hand. Additionally, it features power-saving technologies, such as a light sensor that can detect the light level in the room and automatically adjusts brightness for comfortable viewing, and a proximity sensor, so as viewers move to the front of the monitor it will automatically wake up from standby mode, or revert to sleep mode when there is no movement in the room. It also includes a remote control, making it convenient for living room use.

New gaming accessories also launched

If you thought that was all, wait, there’s more. Acer has also launched a plethora of gaming accessories as well. This includes the Acer Predator M-Utility Backpack, the Predator Cestus 330 gaming mouse, the Predator Aethon 300 gaming keyboard, and the Predator Galea 311 foldable gaming headset. The Predator M-Utility Backpack comes with a water-repellent 17-inch laptop compartment through a 180-degree fold-flat opening. Additionally, it has a plethora of pockets including a tripod holder, built-in luggage strap for traveling, adjustable straps, and air mesh back padding. The Predator Cestus 330 gaming mouse features the newly released solid Pixart 3335 sensor that provides responsive tracking and ultimate accuracy for competitive gaming, 16,000 DPI with seven programmable buttons, on-the-fly DPI switching (5 levels) and 16.8 M RGB backlighting. The Predator Aethon 300 gaming keyboard comes with Cherry switches (MX Blue), teal blue backlighting, and anti-ghosting on all keys. Lastly, the Predator Galea 311 foldable gaming headset features precision-tuned 50 mm drivers featuring Acer’s TrueHarmony, hard key mutable mic, comfortable foam ear cushions and a 3.5 mm headphone jack connector.
